A day trip to El Dorado’s Main Street promises more entertainment and surprises than one would imagine in this small, neighboring town. Declared a “Main Street City” in 1998, the title still holds true today as El Dorado offers something for everyone in the family. 

Restaurants and cafĂ©s can satisfy any craving whether it’s a sit down meal, or a latte to-go. The quaint shops and galleries only add to what El Dorado’s Main Street has to offer.

To Start the Day: 

Start the day off with breakfast at Scooter’s Coffee House. Their friendly staff will help you choose from their delicious menu of pastries. They will also make your favorite blend of their premium coffees. Scooter’s even offers free Wi-Fi, so you can check your email before heading off for the day.

Make Sure You Don’t Miss: 

After finishing breakfast, your next stop should be the hip and trendy Pink Saloon. This fun store carries brightly colored clothing and designer denims. Their knowledgeable staff can put together anything from shoes to accessories. Don’t forget to mention the first-timers’ discount to get 15% off the purchase.

After the Pink Saloon, check out Robin’s just down the street. Robin’s offers a wide selection of clothing and accessories where mothers and daughters will both be able to find something to suit their style. Their friendly and personable staff makes a shopping experience very enjoyable. For more retail therapy head into the award winning Walter‘s Flowers and Interiors. Be sure to make time for this stop with, over 9,000 square feet of beautiful dĂ©cor and arrangements. Walter’s offers anything and everything from unique home dĂ©cor items to floral arrangements to gourmet gift sets.  It’s defiently a must see on Main Street.

Lunch on Main Street: 

Starting to get hungry after all that shopping? Stop into Jacob’s Well to enjoy an array of soups, salads and sandwiches. Jacob’s Well boasts their warm atmosphere and Carmen’s famous potato salad. Top off the delicious lunch with a slice of homemade pie.

There is also Susie’s Chili Parlor, where President Barack Obama ate when he came through town on his campaign tour. Susie’s has superior hometown cooking and delicious cinnamon rolls.

More to Explore: 

While on El Dorado’s Main Street, don’t forget to explore and admire one of the many art galleries. Filled with award-winning collections and prairie printmaker’s pieces; Circle Gallery and The Coutt’s Art Museum will please any art lover. Every third Tuesday at The Coutt’s Art Museum, stop in to enjoy a brown bag lunch and take in the art. 

Also located downtown is Walton’s Art Studio and Gallery, which features local artists. After a day of shopping your feet probably need some pampering, stop by Salon Knotty and Day Spa to treat yourself to a pedicure. Offering a variety of services including; tanning, hairstyling, manicures, pedicures, and facials, their modern salon and experienced staff will make any visit worth while.

Before Heading Home:  

Treat your family by going to Satchel Creek Steaks to pick up some dinner. Satchel sells all natural beef and a wide range of seasonings, sauces and gifts. Next stop should be Beyond Napa, located right behind Satchel Creek, and take home a bottle of wine for dinner.  With a variety from every corner of the globe, everyone will find something to please the palate.
